  • In response to the developments of COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) has suspended passenger clearance services at most of the control points in phases from late January 2020 to early 2023. The normal travel of persons between Hong Kong and the Mainland has been resumed progressively in phases starting 8 January 2023, the Government of the HKSAR reopened those control points where passenger clearance services needed to be suspended in response to the developments of the COVID-19 pandemic. Normal travel between Hong Kong and the Mainland fully resumed starting 6 February 2023. The passenger clearance services at the following control points are temporarily suspended:
    • Hung Hom and Sha Tau Kok (with effect from 30 January 2020).
  • The Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point commenced operation on 26 August 2020 with cargo clearance service only.  It commenced full operation (including cargo and passenger clearance services) on 6 February 2023.
