Online application for extension of stay |
Generally speaking, visitors must depart Hong Kong before the expiry of their limit of stay. If there is a special/urgent need to stay longer, visitors may apply online for extension of stay when their remaining limit of stay is within 14 days. Applications will be considered on its own merits.
Given the lead time required for processing, applicants should apply online for extension of stay as soon as possible.
However, you are not eligible* to use the service if:
* Applicants who are not eligible for online application may submit applications to the Extension Section, 5th Floor, Administration Tower, Immigration Headquarters, 61 Po Yap Road, Tseung Kwan O, New Territories (Tel: (852) 2824 6111).

Attention:
(1) If an application for extension of stay submitted via this online service is approved, the applicant can pay the relevant fee by clicking here or through the ImmD Mobile Application by credit card (VISA, Mastercard, UnionPay and JCB only) or Payment by Phone Service (PPS), Faster Payment System (FPS) or Mainland China’s Licensed Digital Wallets (Alipay, WeChat Pay and UnionPay App only). After making the payment successfully, the applicant can instantly download or print the “e-Visa”. The applicant or his/her representative can also bring his/her original passport / travel document and the relevant fee to the Extension Section, 5th Floor, Administration Tower, Immigration Headquarters, 61 Po Yap Road, Tseung Kwan O, New Territories for payment and collection of “e-Visa”. If the applicant authorises a representative to pay the fee, the representative is required to produce his / her identification document, authorisation letter, the applicant's original travel document and the relevant fee.
(2) It is an offence to make false statements or representations to an immigration officer. A person who knowingly and wilfully makes a statement or gives information which he/she knows to be false or does not believe to be true shall be guilty of an offence under the Laws of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and any such visa/entry permit issued or permission to enter or remain in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region granted shall have no effect.

Please note that the applicant is required to provide his/her signature throughout online application process. If the applicant is under the age of 16, the form should be signed by the applicant’s parent or legal guardian.
Before uploading the required documents, you will need to scan them in one of the following formats:
File type: JPEG, PDF, GIF, PNG or TIF (RAW, LZW, JPEG, CCITT-G4)
File size: 5Mbytes or below for each file
Colour depth: Grayscale (for documents without photos)
Colour (for documents with photos)
Applicants may still be required to submit further supporting documents and information in connection with the application(s) when necessary.
