Enhanced e-Channel service arrangements for Mainland visitors

28 April 2023

The Immigration Department (ImmD) announced today (April 28) that, with effect from tomorrow (April 29), the eligible age for holders of electronic Exit-Entry Permits for travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macao (e-EEP) for using the e-Channel service will be adjusted to 11 years old or above.

The ImmD has been making good use of technology and adopted various measures to optimise its service quality and enhance the handling capacity of control points. At present, eligible e-EEP holders aged 16 or above can use the e-Channel service. To further enhance the clearance efficiency of control points and allow more visitors to use the fast and convenient e-Channel service, starting from tomorrow, the ImmD will adjust the applicable age of e-Channel service for e-EEP holders. Eligible persons aged 11 years old or above can use the e-Channels for self-service immigration clearance at all control points.

For details of the e-Channel service available to e-EEP holders, please visit the ImmD website (www.immd.gov.hk/eng/services/echannel_visitors.html#eeep).
