The duly completed application form with copies of supporting documents can be sent by post to:

Underpaid mail items will not be accepted by the Immigration Department. For proper delivery of your mail items, please ensure your mail items bear sufficient postage with return address before posting.(Details)

Applicants can submit their applications in person to any Registration of Persons Office (except Kwun Tong (Temporary) Office).

Upon receipt of the application, the Registration of Persons Office will ask the applicant to attend an interview to produce the originals of his/her supporting documents. If the application is approved, arrangements will be made for the applicant to replace his/her identity card at a fee of HK$460.
