新舊 象 PAST & PRESENT 流動辦事處 Mobile Office 為方便市民,入境處自成立以來在港九各區設立了多個分區辦事處,處理簽證和旅行證件的申請。六、七十年代,負責簽發身份證的人事登記處設立了流動辦事處,派出 登記隊帶同設備和攝影器材,乘坐專車,輪流派駐港九各指定徙置區及交通不便的新界偏遠地區,為當區居民提供換領身份證等服務。隨着交通基建有所改善和資訊科技日益 普及,入境處的流動辦事處於二零零三年五月停止服務。服務停辦前,入境處流動辦事處的人員定期到西貢、大嶼山及長洲的鄉事委員會,為居民簽發特區護照和提供出生 和婚姻登記等服務。 For the convenience of the public, the department has, since its inception, set up a number of branch offices in various districts on the Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon to handle visa and travel document applications. In the 1960s and 1970s, the Registration of Persons Office, which was responsible for issuing identity cards, set up mobile offices, and registration teams, bringing along necessary devices and photographic equipment and travelling by designated vehicles, were sent on a rotation basis to specified resettlement areas on the Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon, as well as remote and inaccessible areas in the New Territories to provide services such as replacement of identity cards for the local residents. With the improvement in transport infrastructure and growing popularity of information technology, the department ’ s mobile offices ceased service in May 2003.
