Immigration Department introduces HKSAR Passport Mobile Application Stations and calls on members of public to apply for HKSAR passport early (with photos)

13 July 2022

The Immigration Department (ImmD) announced today (July 13) that the HKSAR Passport Mobile Application Stations (PMAS) would be introduced to provide members of the public with the service of online application for a Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) passport, so as to remind members of the public to apply for an HKSAR passport early to prevent any delay in outbound travel in the future.

To remind members of the public to renew their HKSAR passports early, the ImmD is going to introduce the PMAS, with promotional vehicles that will travel around all 18 districts throughout Hong Kong to call on and assist members of the public to apply for an HKSAR passport online. Eligible applicants only need to bring their valid Hong Kong permanent identity cards to submit their HKSAR passport applications with assistance at the PMAS after having their photos taken on site and paying the application fee online by credit card, which is easy, convenient and fast.

The PMAS promote the service of HKSAR passport application at locations near residential areas and shopping malls, as well as those with higher pedestrian flow in various districts between today and early September, with operating hours from 10am to 6pm daily. For details on the service locations of the PMAS for the first phase and other details, please visit the ImmD's thematic webpage at www.immd.gov.hk/eng/pmas.html.

The ImmD calls on members of the public who have travel plans to check the validity of their HKSAR passports in advance and arrange for renewal as early as possible. In addition to using the PMAS, members of the public are also encouraged to submit their HKSAR passport applications through the Internet or the ImmD mobile application, or at Travel Document Submission Kiosks at the Immigration Headquarters in Wan Chai and the seven Immigration branch offices in a self-service manner, which is fast and convenient. To prevent any delay in travel, members of the public are reminded to allow sufficient time for the application for and collection of their new passports.
