Senior Immigration Assistant Mr Choi Fung-hau has been elected Hong Kong's most courteous Immigration control officer.
The Director of Immigration, Mr Chan Kwok-ki, and the General Manager of Corporate Affairs of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Ms Cynthia Leung, today (April 28) presented awards and souvenirs to Mr Choi at Immigration Headquarters.
Mr Chan said that the Most Courteous Immigration Control Officers Election has been held annually since 1996 to promote frontline officers' sincerity and courtesy while exercising effective immigration control.
Hong Kong is Asia's world city and a gateway to the Mainland and the world. The Immigration Department is committed to providing quality and efficient immigration clearance services, Mr Chan said. He encouraged the frontline officers to continue to promote a customer-focused service culture and leave visitors with a good impression of Hong Kong. He also thanked the officers for their devotion in offering efficient and courteous services to travellers.
Mr Chan thanked the Hong Kong Tourism Board for its support in making the Most Courteous Immigration Control Officers Election a success. The winner was appointed as a Hong Kong Courtesy Ambassador by the Board.
