Implementation of online Pre-Arrival Registration for Taiwan Residents

31 August 2012

The online Pre-arrival Registration for Taiwan Residents will be implemented on September 1, 2012.

Eligible Taiwan residents may submit their pre-arrival registration through the e-Service platform Pre-arrival Registration for Taiwan Residents (www.gov.hk/par) at the GovHK website free of charge. Successful registrants will be able to visit Hong Kong with a self-printed Notification Slip for Pre-arrival Registration for Taiwan Residents and a travel document valid for re-entry to Taiwan for at least six months.

An Immigration Department spokesman said, "Pre-arrival Registration is a simple, convenient and free-of-charge online service to further streamline entry arrangements for Taiwan residents to visit Hong Kong. We believe it will be welcomed by Taiwan visitors and contribute to Hong Kong-Taiwan exchanges."

The Immigration Department announced the implementation details of the new measure on August 21. Details can be found on the e-Service platform at the GovHK website (www.gov.hk/par).
