If you are a registered elector and give consent on the notification of change of particulars previously registered or on the notification of change of address to transfer your personal particulars to the Registration and Electoral Office (REO), the REO will use such transferred data for the purpose of verifying the relevant particulars in the electoral register. If any alteration of the particulars in the electoral register is required, the REO would separately inform you the relevant procedures (including the specified form on change of particulars and the relevant documentary proof that are required to be submitted to the REO). Unless you have separately submitted all the required specified form and the relevant documentary proof to the REO, your registration particulars in the electoral register will not be changed due to this notification.
As stipulated in section 10A of the Electoral Affairs Commission (Registration of Electors) (Legislative Council Geographical Constituencies) (District Council Geographical Constituencies) Regulation (Cap. 541A), the statutory deadline to apply for change of particulars for the electoral register to be compiled in 2024 is 2 June 2024. As it takes time for the REO to conduct the verification process and to notify the persons concerned on the procedures for change of registration particulars after receiving the personal particulars from this Department, for notification of change of particulars previously registered or notification of change of address submitted to this Department on or after today, even if the REO receives the personal particulars transferred by this Department, the relevant verification and procedures for change of registration particulars could not be completed in time.
If you wish to change your registration particulars in the electoral register to be compiled in 2024, please submit the specified form on change of particulars and the relevant documentary proof to the REO direct on or before the statutory deadline (i.e. 2 June 2024). For details on change of registration particulars of the electoral register to be compiled in 2024, please visit the REO’s website (vr.gov.hk) or call their hotline (2891 1001).
